At Wealthfarm we are strong supporters of our community and we are constantly integrating community activities in the everyday operation of our business. Our staff volunteer at a number of charities and we are also involved in the Beacon Foundation where we mentor secondary school pupils and encourage them to be the best they can be.
We support a variety of charities including Ayla’s Rainbow Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia, Make a Wish Australia, Variety the Children’s Foundation and Lifeline. Our entire team volunteers 2 days per year to go and work at a charity. This work can be anything from painting the rooms in shelters, working at shopping centres doing the Christmas Wrap for Lifeline through to handing out food to those less fortunate.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Nicholas Sinclair and Financial Planner Michael Smyth participate in the Annual Risk Ride where they cycle hundreds of kilometres to raise money for charity. In 2010 they helped raise much needed money for MS Research and in 2011, they rode through the Gold Coast Hinterland, down to Byron and back to raise money for a Gold Coast Ronald McDonald House.
On Thursday 23 May, the Wealthfarm team took part in 'Australia's Biggest Morning Tea' to help raise funds for cancer research, prevention and support programs. Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is Cancer Council's Australia's most popular fundraising event and the largest, most successful event of its kind in Australia.
In 2013, The Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea is celebrating 20 years in which they have raised over $110 million. Over this period the survival rate for many common cancers has increased by 30%!
On Wednesday 12 December, the Wealthfarm team were at Harbour Town wrapping Christmas Gifts to raise funds for Lifeline. Lifeline is a great charity that provides vital community services to Queenslanders including Lifeline’s 24-hour Crisis Line 13 11 14 and the Disaster Recovery Program.
The Wealthfarm Team went out to Harbourtown for the second year in a row to spend the day wrapping shopper's Christmas Gifts to raise money for the Gold Coast division of Lifeline. Lifeline do an AWESOME job in the community and really need our support. We even got Santa involved...

Our event was a huge success with everyone getting into the theme and dressing in their best "Wild West". We raised almost $7,000 on the night for Ronald McDonald House and we would like to once again thank our sponsors for their generosity and our guests for attending and purchasing raffle tickets.

Nicholas Sinclair, Wealthfarm CEO and Michael Smyth, Wealthfarm Financial Planner cycled over 400 kms in 4 days with a group of riders from MLC and helped raise over $70,000 for this worthwhile charity. The route spanned the Gold Coast hinterland (lots and lots of mountains...) down to Byron Bay and back up to finish at Kingscliffe. Congratulations to Nick and Michael for a fabulous effort.

On January 21st 2011, Wealthfarm offices closed their doors and all staff headed to Goodna to work with the flood victims to help them get some normality back into their lives.
